Aubrey Organics
It is whats inside each biodegradable, recyclable plastic bottle that makes Aubrey Organics products so special. Founded in 1967 by one of the heroes of truly natural hair, skin and body care, Aubrey Hampton, all the products are 100% free of synthetic and chemical ingredients and preserved with powerful antioxidants and the anti-fungal, citrus seed extract. And owing to the purity of the ingredients, be prepared to shake well before use. The excellence of the ingredients is matched with excellent pricing. The shampoos are wonderfully cleansing, great value and a real Aubrey Organics speciality. I would particularly recommend Aubreys Blue Camomile Hydrating Shampoo as it lightly conditions as well as cleanses hair and their durable, gorgeous smelling bars of soap are another favourite. I also use the Baby Shampoo and Soap for both babies. Ummmm, just the smell reminds me of the bubbles and splashes of bathtime and soft clean hair and skin.

Dr. Bronner's
I discovered Dr Bronners Magic Soaps on Woody Harrelsons ecowarrior site voiceyourself.com a number of years ago. They are undoubtedly first class ethically, advocating 'constructive capitalism' and using organic and fairtrade ingredients, but also a treat for your skin and home. The gentle lather of the organic oils cleanse without drying and they are ideal for people who need to wash their hands regularly. The potency and freshness of the fragrance is all natural high quality essential oils. The liquid soaps (although thinner than you might be used to) are concentrated and have no added water.
The Peppermint Liquid Soap makes me think of my son George coming in from the garden after a busy morning of digging and getting messy, holding out his little hands for some Dr Bronner's soap and then rubbing them together to make bubbles and loving the smell. Pick your favourite flavours and enjoy for hands, face and body, cleaning and laundry!
Preservative Used: Vitamin E.
Surfactants: Saponified Organic Coconut & Olive Oils.
Products made in U.S.A.

Essential Care
I feel a great deal of good will towards Essential Care, not only because their skin care range is based on purity, accountability and efficacy but also as a small family run business, headed by mother and daughter team Margaret and Abi, they are kindred spirits. Attaining the high standards of Soil Association Certification and hand made in Suffolk, Essential Care have tremendous integrity and produce outstanding skin care with such pure ingredients.
I highly recommend Essential Care's Rose Moisturiser because it is light, moisturising, can be used day or night and as an eye cream and because Rose and Aloe Vera offer so many benefits to skin of all types. It is particularly good for dry or sensitive skin and for any inflammation. I also highly rate the Ylang Ylang & Orange Body Wash - it has a mild lather, conditions the skin and is good for sensitivity.

The Rosemary Shampoo and Conditioner has been a permanent fixture in my bathroom for many years as my partner has very thick hair and a sensitive scalp and it is his favourite natural shampoo. It is also concentrated and has no water added so a little goes a long way. For those that need a really effective deodorant I can personally recommend the Rosemary and No-Scent Roll-On Deodorants for effective performance whilst caring for sensitive skin and for people who like the bronzed look the whole year round but dont want the chemical nasties in mainstream tanning products, the Self-Tan is a must.

Lavera
Lavera is a mainstream German brand founded by Thomas Haase, committed to effective products made with safe natural and organic ingredients. Started in 1975 to develop products for his own sensitive skin the range of skin and hair care has grown and grown into the broadest natural skin and hair care range I know of. So broad in fact that it is divided into sub-sections, such as Lavere (anti-ageing for 30+ skin), Body Spa, Men, Sun, Make-up and more and Lavera just keep adding ranges and products. Hurrah!! The latest range being Hair, including specialist shampoos and styling aids.
Lavera is excellent for: choice (there really is something for everyone), high quality natural ingredients, efficacy and price. Many customers purchase products from the Body Spa range for presents because with the great choice of fragrances and stylish packaging they are an affordable treat. I can recommend the Lavere Hydro Sensation Energy Cream because it is so light, effective and can be used for day or night. It is an invaluable travel companion. My other favourite is the hand bag sized Basis Hand Cream. At £1.30 why leave home without it.
Preservative System: Alcohol.
Surfactants Used: Coco Glucoside, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Sodium Coco Sulphate, Lauryl Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Lauroyl Sarcosine.

Weleda
Weleda has the fabulous pedigree of being founded in 1921 by the father of the anthroposophical movement, Dr Rudolf Steiner. The natural skin care is an extension of their homeopathic treatments and encourages good health and self-healing through using plant ingredients for their therepeutic benefits to the skin and bio-dynamically and organically grown ingredients wherever possible.
Weledas eco credentials are excellent and they justifiably call themselves the original green brand. Despite their Swiss background and Swiss name Weleda products have been manufactured in the UK since the Second World War and their packaging is fully recyclable. The high quality of Weledas skin care products and reasonable pricing means that it remains one of our top selling skin care brands.
I would particularly recommend Weledas Wild Rose Day Cream and Wild Rose Night Cream for their quick absorbency on dry skin, their delicate scent and their sheer popularity with our customers. I love their Birch Cellulite Oil. Pregnancy changes the levels of oestrogen (which plays a large role in the elasticity of connective tissues) but two babies and a few bottles of Birch Cellulite Oil later my thighs are as toned and firm as they were before.
Preservative System: Fermentation grade ethyl alcohol produced by fermenting plant sugars.
Surfactants Used: Coco-Glucoside, Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Lauryl Glucoside, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Cetyl Betaine, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate & Sodium Lauryl Glucose Carboxylate.
Weleda use organic and biodynamically grown plant ingredients wherever possible.
Products made in Derbyshire, UK.
Packaging is made of recyclable plastic.
